Dayton, Ohio’s D. Knight brings a certain realism and hope to every track that he drops. Well aware of the landscape he’s creating in, the Ohio native is honest about the struggle that is the human existence, while keeping his head up and pursuing his dreams and endeavors. D. Knight challenges his listeners to do the same imploring them to never give up as their success is right around the corner. 2018 saw D. Knight’s “Without Fear” featured on The CW’s hit show “All-American’, a few years later Knight would win ‘Best New Hip-Hop Artist’ at the 2022 Buckeye Awards. In 2024, D. Knight released “Late Bloomers” and “Inner Child” previews for his next album. Releasing five albums in the span of seven years, D. Knight is back with his latest effort ‘Kids With Ambition, arriving just on time as we head deeper into 2025. “Kids With Ambition’ is a pulse-pounding and passionate 12 tracks in which D. Knight pulls back the curtain, calling his to listeners to action with every track. The album opens with “The Reassurance” and from the beginning Knight drops his mission statement that permeates throughout the entire album. Forever going against the grain and the judgements of others saying “Cuz I ain’t have enough to put a ball inside a basket/and n*ggas always said I ain’t have the voice to be rappin.” Our hero continuously showing that his success is inevitable despite the roadblocks and what others say. All of this said, D. Knight has never had a problem getting personal and going over the journey that it took for him simply to get to this point here. Ash Matthews mixture of underground and modern sounds to bring Knight’s smooth and direct delivery to life. “Take It Easy” showcases this and has Ash’s guitar-laced production providing the canvas for the Ohio native to talk about the moments of doubt that crowd all of our lives. While in that same breath he makes sure to turn it around and believe in himself, allow for grace and pits the listener to the same. ‘Kids With Ambition’ comes out at the perfect time where everything outside seems to have a cloud of negativity, Ohio’s D. In 2023, D. Knight released "You See How Things Change" which included four singles (Regular, Game So Cold, MIA, Wish Me Well). With this project, you can hear the growth in D. Knight's delivery and wordplay in comparison to his previous releases. Although "You See How Things Change" is not technically a full length release, D. Knight still delivers on this eight-song project allowing fans to have an idea of what is next to come in the near future.

Knight immediately stands out a cut above the rest, with his voice commanding our attention and when coupled with verses of honesty, D. Knight’s talent and energy cannot be denied. Over the course of the last few years, D.Knight has been on the radio, won ‘Best Hip-Hop Artist’ at the 2022 Buckeye Awards, and even had his single “Without Fear” from 2018 featured on the CW’s hit show ‘All-American’. During all of this though, D. Knight was still in the studio creating and perfecting his latest album. With his third overall project ‘Make Myself At Home’, D. Knight looks to solidify his mark on hip-hop. At 11 tracks deep, ‘Make Myself At Home’ is a needed listen as 2022 comes to a close. ‘Make Myself At Home’ is the return of the artist’s album, so often artists are told to stay in one particular lane or sound but D.Knight takes this chance to show the range of his talent. The epic opening “The Perseverance” sets the listener up for the journey ahead. D. Knight bares all on this album, the ups and downs, the wins and losses and everything in between. Tracks like “Pursuit” show D.Knight’s relentlessness in going after his goals and what he hopes to accomplish. The very next track “Never Enough” featuring Dub The Poet has both artists exploring the doubts that we all have but choosing to push forward and keep working. With the bulk of the production handled by Ash Matthews & Young Sunflower, the album flows perfectly despite Knight tackling a myraid of topics. The last quarter of the album brings everything together as D.Knight opens up about his past and everything it took just to present this album to the masses. Whether it’s the track “2017” where Knight speaks on the year that changed his life or the actual closer in “All I Been Through” the Ohio artist is making a statement with ‘Make Myself At Home’.
LIFE IS PRECIOUS is the debut album by Ohio hip hop artist D. Knight. Continuing off the momentum of his 2019 EP titled "Hidden Gem", Knight showcases artistic growth throughout this album by providing in-depth storytelling and introspective themes.
Despite releasing two mixtapes and two EPs beforehand, Hidden Gem feels like the start of something new for D. Knight. With the 2019 release of Hidden Gem, we get a glimpse of who D. Knight is as a person from the determined, relentless single "Without Fear" all the way to the introspective "Do It Alone".
